  • Amazing

Whitney Houston really made this album special with her fantastic rendition of the song and her ones in a life time vocals!!
  • Where is "Back Door Santa"???

This is a great (and amusing) Christmas compilation of favorite performers of the 1980s. Sting's "Angel Gabriel" and The Eurythmics' "Winter Wonderland" are worth getting the album to have. BUT, the Bon Jovi song on the release is entirely WRONG. This song fits the new, kinder, more uplifting Bon Jovi of today, but it's not the pure Bon Jovi of the first release. On the ORIGINAL RELEASE of "A Very Special Christmas", Bon Jovi performed the Clarence Carter classic "Back Door Santa", and they did it as ONLY Bon Jovi could! I miss that song every time I listen to this album. The replacement song is just boring.
  • Very Fine :-)

An interesting, very 80s spin on the Christmas classics. Love Eurythmics' Winter Wonderland! One low point, though, is Madonna's awful rendition of an already cringeworthy song.
  • Listening for years

Many good cuts. In addition to Eurythmics, Coventry Carol by Alison Moyet is stirring. It sure sounds like Annie Lennox singing background as well. Just hope that the proceeds are still funneling to Special Olympics after 28 years!!!! I do agree Eartha Kitt's "Santa Baby" is the classic and standard. Madonna tries to cover. Stick to disco.
  • Oh the Memories

Oh the memories this one, special album holds. Every Christmas my mom would play this for us and I just loved it. I can't listen to any other rendition (or any other Christmas song for that matter) because that's how in love I am with it. We lost it two years ago and I just saw they had it on iTune (I don't know why I never looked). GREAT Christmas album, possibly in my biased opinion, some of the renditions of these songs out there.

I own the cd of this album and by far it is my favorite
  • 5 Stars for Whitney!

I find it amusing how Whitney Houston had a song on this album alongside all these rock musicians. Rock definitely dominated the 80s, but Whitney dominated EVERYBODY with her soulful rendition of "Do You Hear What I Hear?" and puts all these other artists to shame. Nothing against them, but you can't compete with The Voice!
  • Childhood!

This album takes me back. Every time I hear these songs by these artists I think of Christmas as a kid. I'm hoping my daughter will love it just as much as I do!
  • Oh Whitney!

Christmas begins when I hear her sing this song.
